Open Door’s Student Ministry

Our goal is to develop a group of students who are enthusiastically seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ. A group who is unapologetically committed to reaching their friends for Christ (here and to the uttermost)––convinced that time is valuable. A group that's open, positive, real, and sensitive to needs––promising new-comers a place where they are welcome no matter who they are or where they've been. Further, it’s a ministry that seeks to provide students with spiritually maturing experiences; as well as a clear-cut plan of action and purpose, complete with enthusiastic, flexible adult team players seeking to make that plan work. It’s a ministry that's committed to student leadership––realizing that students aren't the church of tomorrow, but today. A ministry that's seeks to recruit and train team players––significant adults and students. A ministry that provides programs adapted to the changes in culture––making hamburger out of “sacred cows” when necessary. A ministry where teaching times are spontaneous––placing great emphasis on heartfelt singing, drama, teaching, praying, and fun.
